Flower Arranging: The Spiral Method

I used to bring home flowers or cut them from my yard (or a ditch - yup, I'm that gal), then place them in a vase and watch as they all splayed open. I'd then fuss with them and try different containers, heights, and not feel quite satisfied (they were not insta worthy when I was done). This took extra time and bashed around my precious stems.

The spiral technique allows for arranging in moments so your flowers look great no matter the quantity, variety, or container you're using. This requires no chicken wire, 'frog', or other supports in the vessel to look great. To do this you need one thing - a simple elastic.

The best parts of this event are that you don't need any experience, you'll get to bring home a large bouquet of the fresh organically grown flowers of your choice, AND you'll be impressed by how beautifully you arranged them!

If you're a beginner then I'll teach you easy tricks to add longevity and beauty to flowers. And if you're a seasoned gardener or pro, then you'll appreciate being surrounded by the cut flower varieties that are sought after (including Floret Originals).

Bring your flower friends or come alone and meet some new ones! All are welcome 13+

Everlasting Blooms: Preserving Flowers 3 Ways

My life was once divided into when flowers were blooming and when they weren't. Then I discovered the world of flower preserving and now I make arrangements in January!!

There are so many possibilities for what you can do with dried and pressed flowers: arrangements that can be created and re-created, pressed flowers used in keepsakes (think preserving special event flowers), cards, bookmarks, gifts, on cakes and candles, or set into resins, frames, and plastics for everlasting beauty.

We'll practice 3 methods of preserving flowers:

  1. Hang Drying (upside down & right side up)

  1. Silica Drying

  2. Pressing

Using one or all of these methods you'll be able to preserve your favourite flowers (even large, dense flowers like dahlias that have traditionally been avoided).

To extend your flower season: you'll tour my dried flower areas to spark ideas, receive a bunch of dried flowers, and your own flower press to take home!

Bring yourself and your friends 13+, or make some new ones here.
